1. Who we are

Adamawa State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development operates this portal on the Smart Education Management System (SEMS) platform provided by SEMS Nigeria. By using the site you accept these terms and our Privacy Notice.

2. Public information

School directory entries, EMIS statistics, news, events and programme pages are published for public information. We work to keep them accurate but they are supplied by ministries and schools; verify important details (e.g. fees, admission dates) with the school directly. Content may be reused for non-commercial purposes with attribution to Adamawa State SEMS.

3. Accounts

• Accounts are issued to schools, ministry staff, teachers, parents and learners by the responsible school or ministry. Keep credentials secret; you are responsible for activity under your account and must enable two-factor authentication where required.
• Claiming a school profile is limited to the school's proprietor, head or an authorised officer. False claims are rejected and may be reported.
• We may suspend accounts that breach these terms, threaten security or are inactive for an extended period.

4. School subscriptions and payments

Every approved school receives a free public profile and website. The full school-management system is offered on the Pro plan, billed in Nigerian Naira through Paystack for the period shown at checkout. Fees paid by parents to a school through SEMS are collected on behalf of that school, which is responsible for its own refund policy. Platform subscriptions are non-refundable once the period has started, except where required by law or where SEMS fails to provide the service.

5. Acceptable use

You must not: upload unlawful, defamatory or infringing content; attempt to access other schools' or users' data; probe, scan or overload the service; use learner or parent data for marketing; or misrepresent your relationship with a school or ministry. Schools are responsible for the content they publish on their SEMS website and for obtaining consent before publishing photographs of learners or staff.

6. Data protection

Personal data is processed as described in the Privacy Notice under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Schools and ministries using SEMS to manage their own records are data controllers and must use the platform lawfully; SEMS processes that data only on their instructions.

7. Availability, changes and liability

We aim for continuous availability with monitored uptime, nightly backups and planned maintenance announced in advance, but the service is provided "as is" and we cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by Nigerian law, SEMS and the Ministry are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site. We may update these terms and the platform; material changes will be posted here with a new date.
